The City State

I came back after twenty years and the city is fucking clean like before. The Sultan Mosque in Arab Street.

The DHL balloon on our way to Bugis Street. The balloon is part of the Half Price Singapore Surprise promotion they had until last week. We were in a hurry so we didn't make it there. Next time maybe. If it's still there..

Bugis Street, a lot in common with Petaling Street. Only that they don't have intimidating hawkers who act like thugs...

Just something taken from the car on our way to Marina Bay. It's Orchard Road and the place is super crowded. Ugh.

Orchard Road again. Spanking clean...and hot. I think it's hotter there than here in KL. Maybe because we have more trees. Yeah righttttt...

Hehehe. We managed to catch a gig in a bar called Woodstock in Long Marina Beach. This one is a black metal band and if you notice, a girl in leather bikini next to the satan worshipping frontman. They chanted satan! satan! hail satan and all kind of mantras there. No one's hurt though. It's a place where people play all kinds of music without intimidating each other. No cans or mugs flying. It's a place where people shared their music, minding their own business. If it wasn't for the musician mates we're with, we won't be there on its final night! The place had to be demolished to give way to the casinos....

Tanjong Pagar Railway Station where we had our late dinner after the gig and before we went to Marina Bay again. I'm not sure whether Malaysia had given up the land but then people happily come and go. Hmmm. And the place is not as clean. Feels at home. Agagaga. I had Nasi Ayam Peyet there. It's just chicken rice with sambal belacan(a hot shrimp paste condiment) but it tastes good because I was super starviiiiiiiiiiiing! A view from Jurong Hill around 3am. The lights are from this power plant island I forgot its name. Highly secured of course.

Well, there goes some of the pictures that I managed to capture during my short visit to Temasek. I was actually there for this wedding. I can tell you the wedding was much more happening than the one we had here with people took turn to perform the silat in front of the brides, kuda kepang, javanese dance and even joget lambak!!! I was too engrossed, savouring the many food they had that I didn't had the chance to take any pictures from the wedding. The foods were great. Nyum, nyummmmmmm.

The Unexpected

Miahahaha!!!!! We were trapped inside a lift yesterday. Coming back from buying nasi lemak(rice cooked in coconut cream, slurrrrp) from nearby stall, we got into the lift and it suddenly stopped accelarating in between level 19th and 20th. It's my first experience trapped inside a lift! We kept on pressing the bell and the intercom but no one came to the rescue. So what did you do during the interval? I fantasised. Hmmm. What if the ropes snap and the lift plummeting to the ground? Will I save myself if I managed to jump right before the car hit the ground? Hehehe. Crazy thoughts eh? The lift finally accelerates after a few minutes. But stucked at level 20th. Had to use the stairs to go up.

I couldn't find something decent to depict nasi lemak. I think this one will do for the moment.

While talking about durian in the car and about the people who bring them aboard the lrt later today, we found a durian lying motionlessly in the middle of the road in our neighbourhood. Wakakaka!!! So I picked it up and took it into the car. There's this car opposite us trying to stop to pick it up too. Well sorry uncle, we got it first! Lalalala...

No decent video on durian on the road though...
