The Snooping Brouhaha

The Strokes-New York City Cops I feel like laughing when I first heard about it. Indeed, I laugh. I laugh at people who perpetrated the idea of spying on couples. Straight couples I guess. The 'peeping tom' squad is launched by the Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ali Rustam who is also the vice president of UMNO(mind you!) and is said to complement the enforcement activities of the religious officers of Malacca. I'm a malay, born and raised in Malacca and proud of it, but this? I'm disgusted and ashamed. I mean, did they ever heard of the rights to privacy? Don't they have anything else to do? The idea is so pervert even the pervetest of all pervert could have never think how pervert it is. If there are only seven religious officers to cater all the 'enforcement activities', go and find out more! Publish the vacancy in the newspapers, Internet or do whatever people in their right mind would do in order to seek employees! The unemployment rate is still high and these people might need these jobs. There's no need for separate entity. What if they bumped into a married couple having their private moment in the park and happened to not bring their marriage certificate? I mean, who on earth go around with their marriage certificate? If the are caught, wouldn't that be embarassing?they are so many humble things to do instead of peeping on others. They should have focus instead on preventing snatch theft or patrolling their kampong to reduce crime. What if they invade private property and started to snap photos of couples at their home? I don't think they have the legal authority, yet. But until then, who are you to be a moral police? Are you moral enough?
